Friday, June 4 - Sunday, June 6, 2010: Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's Annual World War II Weekend

Unknown Soldiers will be featured in the book hangar at the 20th Annual World War II Weekend . Over 30,000 visitors come from all over America (and the world!) to see flight shows with restored WWII-era planes, re-enactments, and to meet and talk with veterans. Signed copies of Unknown Soldiers will be for sale.

Thursday, May 20, 2010: Author interview by the Witness to War Foundation

The Witness to War Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to chronicling and preserving the combat experiences of American veterans. In May they will be traveling to Boston, where they will interview Joe and add his oral history to their growing collection.

Harold C. Deutsch World War II History RoundTable

Joe Garland will be a
member of the panel of veterans who served at Anzio, south of Rome. The
early success of the Allies' surprise landing in January 1944 was
followed by a four-month stalemate in which we lost more than 30,000
