This page features complete audio versions of selected chapters. The podcasts include the author reading aloud the selected chapters, interspersed with the actual voices of the men Joe served with. Also offered are selected audio snippets of the interview exerpts featured in the text of the book, so that visitors may choose to listen to audio extracts as smaller separate files. Optionally, visitors can play the audio snippets to hear the relevant portions of the interviews and hear the speakers go beyond the bounds of what appears in the printed book.

About the Audio files
The voices of Joe's buddies are from interviews he conducted during the 1970s while gathering material for this book, recorded on fifty-eight ninety-minute cassette tapes. Joe painstakingly transcribed the interviews on a typewriter, and indexed them on cards which he drew on extensively when weaving together this book. After transcribing the tapes he donated them to the U.S. Army War College in Pennsylvania for archival purposes. With current advances in technology Joe has had the tapes digitized and is making portions of the original interviews available here online to supplement the printed book and add to the oral history of World War II.
